EQUIPMENT POLICY

1.RADIO USAGE

• (a)Guardsmen must always have a radio equipped while on-team.
• (b)Guardsmen must utilize the unit number shown next to their username on the database.
• (c)Direct communication from a guardsman to another person on the radio shall contain the unit number of the person they are wishing to transmit to, followed by the word "DIRECT".
  • (i)Ex: "G1 DIRECT, WILCO"
• (e)Whenever there is a message intended for guardsmen, or you are trying to speak directly to a guardsman, you should use the "DEPARTMENT" channel.
• (f)Whenever there is a message that is intended for other departments or agencies, or you are trying to speak directly to a member of another agency, you should use the "GLOBAL" channel.

2.EQUIPMENT

• (a)All guardsmen shall be permitted to use all equipment they have access to, given they use it correctly and professionally.
• (b)Guardsmen who do not possess MP Powers must not use equipment given to the Military Police.
• (c)A normal loadout for a guardsman shall include the following;
  • (i)Stetson M2M
  • (ii)Para-17
  • (iii)Flashlight
  • (iv)Baton
  • (v)x3 Handcuffs
  • (vi)x4 Boxes of .556 Ammo
  • (vii)x4 Boxes of 9mm Ammo
• (d)Guardsmen shall not utilize civilian guns, melee, or equipment while on-team, unless given explicit permission from Headquarters.
• (e)When a guardsman is getting off-team they must dispose of their gear in the evidence box in the brig.
  • (i)If the guardsman is in a hurry, then they may dispose of their equipment in a National Guard Vehicle.
• (f)If a guardsman accidentally drops gear, they must report it to Military Police Investigations.
• (g)Guardsmen may not take any National Guard equipment off-team, unless stated in another OPREG.
• (h)Guardsmen may not store any National Guard equipment in their personal vehicle.
• (i)Guardsmen holding the rank of Sergeant or above, and Full-time Military Police personnel, are authorized to carry their issued Para-17 firearm while off-duty, provided that:
  • (i)They provide their own ammunition and not use PI ammo.
    • Headquarters may use PI ammo.
  • (ii)They do not store the Para in their personal vehicle.
  • (iii)They surrender the Para to law enforcement if entering a firearm free zone.
  • (iv)They have a currently valid LETC certification
  • (v)Headquarters may issue exemptions to this policy at their discretion, allowing guardsmen who do not possess a Military Police Certification to carry a Para-17 off-duty.
• (j)Guardsmen must have a valid RFLID when handling NG-issued firearms.
• (k)SFOD-B 2110 members will have access to the Stetson Cardiac-5 insofar as they have obtained an Advanced Firearms License from the Ridgeway State Police.
