DUTY ASSIGNMENTS

1.BEGINNING OF DUTY

• (a)All guardsmen shall park their vehicle inside the armory. Immediately after parking their vehicle, they shall get on-team, enter the headquarters, get all equipment and uniforms on.
• (b)After getting their equipment on, and if a Captain or above is online, the guardsman shall set their status as awaiting an assignment and reflect such over the radio in the "DEPARTMENT" channel.
  • (i)Ex: "G3, Available and awaiting orders."
• (c)If there is no Captain and above on, guardsmen may station themselves as they see fit, so long as their stationing is in compliance with OPREGs.
• (d)Such requirements do not apply under a deployment.

2.DUTY ASSIGNMENTS

• (a)Gate Duty
  • (i)A guardsman shall stand near the gates or sit near the guardhouse.
  • (ii)Upon an approaching vehicle, the guardsman assigned to Gate Duty shall allow or reject a vehicle from entering.
  • (iii)The position, later-on, may be assigned to the Military Police.
  • (iv)If a person does not leave, a guardsman can escalate force to nonlethal force, as necessary.
  • (v)Immediately after the escalation of force, the guardsman shall immediately request Military Police aid.
• (b)Perimeter Check
  • (i)A guardsman shall get in a National Guard Vehicle, and drive on the dirt paths around the Military Exclusion Zone.
  • (ii)A guardsman shall keep watch for all unauthorized personnel and inform such personnel to exit immediately.
  • (iii)If such personnel do not exit, the guardsman is permitted to escalate force and use a baton against the unauthorized persons.
  • (iv)If persons persist, inform the Military Police immediately.
• (c)Roof Check
  • (i)A guardsman shall head to the rear of the National Guard headquarters and climb the ladder.
  • (ii)The guardsman shall detain all trespassers they find on top of the roof, and in the inner areas.
  • (iii)The guardsman shall, upon detention of a trespasser, immediately inform military police.
  • (iv)If the trespasser does not comply, you have permission to escalate force, as necessary.
• (d)Building Check/Base Patrol
  • (i)A guardsman shall get in a National Guard SUV and patrol around the National Guard armory.
  • (ii)A guardsman shall periodically check all buildings for any infiltrators.
  • (iii)A guardsman shall remain vigilant of all threats to the armory and report those threats upward.
  • (iv)The guardsman shall detain all trespassers they find.
  • (v)The guardsman shall, upon detention of a trespasser, immediately inform military police.
  • (vi)If the trespasser does not comply, you have permission to escalate force, as necessary.
• (e)Checkpoint Duty
  • (i)Checkpoints may be established on the main road in front of the base.
  • (ii)The primary checkpoint shall be established at the end of the bridge connecting to the MEZ and shall be properly manned.
  • (iii)The secondary checkpoint is ONLY to be established in the event that there are proper personnel to support both checkpoints adequately.
  • (iv)Barriers and cones should be utilized in order to form the checkpoints.
  • (v)Vehicles should be parked to the side of the road, to not block the entrance/exit of checkpoints.
• (f)Unassigned
  • (i)Unassigned personnel shall wear their respective OCP with no NG Vest, and a Patrol Cap.
  • (ii)Unassigned personnel shall only have a Para-17 with no assault weapon.
  • (iii)If there is no commander online to give assignment, then a guardsman shall be able to wear their respective duty uniform and take combat equipment.
