OFF-BASE CHECKPOINT ESTABLISHMENT

1.CHECKPOINT REGULATIONS

• (a)This policy shall only apply to checkpoints outside of the MEZ and does not affect the checkpoints established in OPREG 1002 - ["DUTY ASSIGNMENTS"].
• (b)The following are authorized to approve the establishment of checkpoints outside of the Military Exclusion Zone:
  • (i)Headquarters
  • (ii)Regimental and Brigade Command
  • (iii)Battalion Command
• (c)The following are authorized to host checkpoints established outside of the Military Exclusion Zone if given approval from one of the above listed groups:
  • (i)Company Command
• (d)During a deployment, any guardsmen may host a checkpoint outside of the Military Exclusion Zone so long as requirements in Section 2 are met and they notify the in-game deployment commander.

2.REQUIREMENTS

• (a)Checkpoints can only be maintained if the follow requirements are met:
  • (i)Five or more guardsmen are present at the established checkpoint and actively on-duty.
  • (ii)At least one Military Police Officer at the rank of Corporal or higher are present at the established checkpoint and actively on-duty.
  • (iii)The host of the checkpoint is actively present and supervising the checkpoint.
• (b)If at any point these requirements are not met then a checkpoint must be deconstructed and guardsmen must return to base if not deployed.
• (c)Guardsmen present at the established checkpoint must always be paying attention for oncoming vehicles at all times.
  • (i)Failing to open a checkpoint for responding emergency service personnel or peace officers could be considered obstruction.
