PROMOTION ACTIONS AND ITEMS

1.GENERAL PROVISIONS

• (a)All guardsmen are required to select a final MOS, or Occupational Speciality, in the final week of their basic training. Guardsmen will be assigned according to the needs of the Guard but Headquarters will attempt to grant those their requesting unit. If this request cannot be filled, the recruit will be given a secondary opportunity to select a new MOS.
• (b)All guardsmen are required to receive permission from their respective company command in order to transfer out of their Unit.
• (c)All personnel are hereby required to serve in any Battalion or Detachment for a minimum of two weeks before being promoted.
• (d)All personnel are hereby required to serve in any Battalion or Unit for a minimum of 14 days before being transferred into another Battalion or Unit.
  • (i)If guardsman has re-enlisted, OPREG 2003.1(d) will not apply.
  • (ii)This does not apply to joining secondary units as a reserve component.

2.RECORDS

• (a)All official promotions and demotions shall be logged on the "Rank Change Roster" found on the Ridgeway National Guard Database.
• (b)All official promotions and demotions shall be logged in the #action-logs channel of the Ridgeway National Guard Discord.
• (c)All official discharges shall be logged on the "Discharge Roster" found on the Ridgeway National Guard Database.
• (d)All official discharges shall be logged in the #action-logs channel of the Ridgeway National Guard Discord.
• (e)All official LOAs shall be marked on the Ridgeway National Guard Database and logged in the #action-logs channel of the Ridgeway National Guard Discord.

3.EXEMPTIONS

• (a)Headquarters shall have the authority to reasonably issue an exemption to this regulation.
• (b)Battalion Command, Detachment Command, and higher may order the removal of a guardsman who has served in a battalion or detachment for less than 30 days under the exception one of the following are met;
  • (i)The guardsman has violated the code of conduct,
  • (ii)The guardsman has violated any regulations set forth by the Battalion or Detachment.
• (e)Guardsmen who undergo advanced training within a new Battalion or Detachment after transferring shall be exempt from OPREG 2003.1(c) and shall be promoted back to the base rank of the Battalion or Detachment after the conclusion of a training or probationary period.
• (b)The SFOD-B 2110 shall not be required to follow the provisions set out by 2003.4.
