12.THE REGISTER OF DECORATIONS

• (a)The Headquarters G-1 shall maintain the Register for every award conferred, the approving authority, the date of conferral, the citation, and any subsequent revocation.
• (b)The Register is the authoritative record of entitlement. A guardsman may wear only those awards recorded against him in the Register.

13.AWARDS CONFERRED OUTSIDE THE GUARD, AND TRANSITION

• (a)Medals conferred outside the Guard. A guardsman conferred any medal by the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor or the Senate, whether under statute, resolution, or executive act, is authorized to wear it in Group IV at Section 3(a)(iv).
  • (i)The guardsman shall present evidence of conferral to the Headquarters G-1 for entry in the Register. A medal not so recorded may not be worn.
• (b)Abolished awards. The Longevity Medal, the Meritorious Service Award, the NCO Award, and the Morale Contribution Award are abolished. A guardsman holding any of these may continue to wear it, however will be unable to request any formal update from the Quartermaster Corps with the abolished award.
• (c)Renamed awards. The Distinguished Service award is redesignated the Distinguished Service Cross.
