STATE GUARDSMAN COMPLAINTS

1.SUBMISSION OF COMPLAINTS
- (a)Concerns or grievances against State Guardsmen can be directed to either the State Guard Command or Ridgeway National Guard Headquarters.
- (b)All submitted complaints will undergo a review and investigation by the Ridgeway National Guard's MPI (Military Police Investigations).
- (c)For transparency and fairness, anonymous complaints will not be accepted.
- (d)All complaints will be treated with utmost confidentiality. At no point should a member from the State Guard access or engage with complaints raised against them.
- (e)Complaints should specifically address potential breaches in the Code of Conduct.
- (f)Habitual frivolous or non-serious complaints from an individual might lead to them being disregarded in the future.
- (g)Matters previously resolved should not be re-complained about.
2.INVESTIGATIVE PROCESS
- (a)The Ridgeway National Guard's MPI oversees all investigations, whether based on received complaints or initiated by members of the public, State Guard, or Ridgeway National Guard.
- (b)MPI will engage with the individual in question, ensuring they can provide evidence, share their perspective, clarify the charges against them, and be made aware of their rights.
- (c)The scheduling of interviews is determined by the MPI.
- (d)Interviews can be concluded early if the respondent is not adhering to the procedures or is non-cooperative.
- (e)MPI has the authority to gather testimonies from other related parties.
- (f)Investigation details and conclusions are meticulously recorded by the MPI.
- (g)Post-investigation, all parties involved will be apprised of the outcome.
- (h)Closed investigations can only be re-opened upon directive from Ridgeway National Guard Headquarters.
- (i)While MPI can suggest potential repercussions, they cannot enforce them directly.
3.FINAL DECISION
- (a)Once the MPI concludes their investigation, findings are relayed to the appropriate authority with actionable recommendations.
- (b)Punishments or corrective actions are determined by the deciding authority, in line with the State Guard's Code of Conduct.
- (c)In rare instances where procedural integrity is in doubt, Ridgeway National Guard Headquarters review and, if necessary, adjust the investigation's outcome.
