STATE GUARD CODE OF CONDUCT SECTION 2

1.OFFENSES (SECTION TWO)

• (a)Misuse of Official Position: Acquiring employment solely for personal gain by using the State Guard's official powers, duties, and responsibilities.
• (b)Failure to Disclose Conflict of Interest: Failing to disclose a potential conflict of interest that might impact unbiased duty performance.
• (c)Failure to Properly Uphold Duties: Not upholding a duty as set by regulation, improperly executing the code of conduct, or neglecting to act on a complaint when in a position of authority.
• (d)Gross Incompetency: Committing or failing to act due to a lack of common sense or unawareness of a particular regulation.
• (e)Harassment: Applying aggressive pressure or attempting to intimidate another guardsman or member of the public.
• (f)Conduct Prejudicial to the Government: Committing a misdemeanor against the County and State of Ridgeway. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• (g)Strike Violation: Accumulating two strikes while employed within the State Guard.
• (h)Assault on Superior Officers: Intentionally causing significant harm to a superior officer of the State Guard.
• (i)Manslaughter: Recklessly causing the death of a person, without malice aforethought.
• (j)Disrespect Towards Superior Officers: Showing intentional disrespect towards a superior officer of the State Guard.
• (k)Reckless Actions: Acting in a manner that could harm a person or deprive them of significant rights or liberties carelessly or recklessly.
• (l)Conspiracy: Purposefully conspiring with another to violate State Guard regulations.
• (m)Usage of False Information: Utilizing information known to be false to make decisions.
• (n)Rioting or Breach of Peace: Intentionally rioting or disrupting the peace.
• (o)Political Violations: Engaging in acts that:
  • i. Use official authority to influence the result of an election.
  • ii. Participate in political actions while on duty.
  • iii. Wear political clothing or accessories while on duty.
  • iv. Allow one's official title to be used to support or disagree with a political question or candidacy.
  • v. Solicit or discourage the political activity of any member of the State Guard.
  • vi. Solicit political contributions during a speech at a political event.
• (p)Insubordination: Willfully disobeying a superior officer.
• (q)Failing to Complete State Guard Training Program: Failing to attend phases, not completing the final exam within the allotted time, or scoring below required on the final exam.
• (r)Misuse of Leadership: Exploiting one's position within the State Guard to exercise undue or malicious influence over subordinates, resulting in unjust punishments or decisions motivated by malice, personal bias, or other inappropriate reasons.
• (s)Internal Malfeasance
  • (i)Lying, fraudulence, or any other form of immoral character behaviour in a manner that disrupts or obstructs the internal administrative processes of the Military Police Investigations
